Parish Counseling Service

Welcome to my website!

Therapy is a collaborative approach in exploring, problem solving and developing strategies to greater self-awareness, growth and wellness. My role is to support you in reaching your greatest potential while learning how to use your gifts to lead healthier and more fulfilling life/relationships.

I use a mixture of Cognitive-Behavioral, Typology (Personality Type), Mindfulness and Supportive therapies. I am certified to administer and interpret the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ® (MBTI) and Strong Interest Inventory for career counseling, personal growth/development and couples counseling.

People have the power to choose life’s direction. Higher self confidence, positive thinking patterns and making healthy lifestyle changes are all areas of life we have control over. The choices we make determine the way we feel, behave and experience the quality of relationships.

“Your heart is the size of an ocean. Go find yourself in its hidden depths.” -Rumi

Included Services

  • Individual, Couples, and Family therapy. Ages range from adults to older adults.
  • Career Counseling, Academic Planning and Life Coaching
  • Administer and Interpret Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Strong Interest Inventory
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ® (MBTI)

The MBTI has been researched and used for decades to help individuals and companies grow and operate more efficiently. MBTI practitioners facilitate leadership and team development programming and assist individuals with self discovery. The instrument is also frequently used in career, academic and life transitions.

The MBTI identifies how we perceive our world and make decisions in life. This awareness helps us understand and adapt to the differences we have with others and ourselves. This formulates more effective ways of communicating and cooperating with others, creating a road towards greater self acceptance/growth/development.

Strong Interest Inventory

This is another instrument developed to help identify occupations, personal work style and work environments that fit based on interests, personality and personal strengths. Many hours of our life are spent working, so it’s important to find fulfilling and satisfying occupations. In many cases, people’s mental health and quality of relationships are impacted by the level of satisfaction in our work lives.

How this works and costs:

In most cases health insurance companies do not cover the MBTI and Strong assessments. Together we’ll select the report that offers the most useful information to meet your needs and goals. After selecting the report, a link will be emailed to you to complete at your own pace, time and place. The results will then be provided at our interpretation session(s) to look at possible options and ideas in order to formulate a plan moving forward. These interpretation sessions are charged at $95 hour plus materials (report). Please be mindful how these sessions may provide a life long impact in many areas of your life.

For individual, couples and family therapy, i’m in network with the majority of insurance providers. My billing service can do insurance verification to determine coverage or you may call your insurance company to confirm your benefits. Please see the website insurance section for the list of providers I’m in network with as a starting point.

Group Therapy: Building Self-Esteem and Authenticity

Self-esteem and authenticity can make quite a difference in how we feel and behave. This is a support group for members who want to build a stronger sense of self and develop a higher level of confidence. This achievement can change the way we feel towards ourselves and interact with others. The unconditional acceptance of each member in this private and confidential setting is an opportunity to unload negative thoughts and feelings. When the group eventually ends, members should be able to lead an authentic life within themselves and those around them. Please call me if you have any questions regarding this group.
